Yet there are still many who seem to think people who join the military are in the lower strata of people who have no other options. I personally am appalled when I hear senior people in government who seem to be anti-veteran. What is your experience? Have you experienced anti-veteran sentiments? 2014-11-01T16:33:13-04:00 SGM Private RallyPoint Member 305517 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Many Americans now seem to offer respect to military personnel. I think what it all boils down to is management vs. leadership. The military follows leaders, and trains leaders. Leadership is paramount. Then there are the bureaucrats that couldn't lead if their lives depended upon it. They went to school to get connected. Their goal is to survive from administration to administration and manage/survive their way through a career while looking good. If they don't look good, it is somebody's fault. They know where the bodies are buried. If the facts are inconvenient, they make stuff up. There is no integrity in this group. Not all managers are this way, but you can rest assured that the anti-veteran ones are. Agree wholeheartedly. Too many weak managers think they are strong leaders. I see it every day. I get quite a lot of frowning/shaking heads from other drivers. But, then again I am used to it living my whole life in this state. Sadly for about 50 of these type of responses I will get one positive look, thumbs up, or comment and it is usually from another vet.<br /><br />Maybe instead of all these people slapping a yellow magnet on their cars that reads "Support our troops" when they actually don't, I should make one that says, "I supported our troops by being one!" (And continue to support them!) lol Response by PO2 Jonathan Scharff made Nov 1 at 2014 6:48 PM 2014-11-01T18:48:33-04:00 2014-11-01T18:48:33-04:00 MSgt Private RallyPoint Member 305927 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I think this has more to do with political leanings also. When Bush was in office civilian friends would give me crap. Those same friends are now in support of the new Iraq mission, Libya and Syria. People that are just told what to think, but I don't think I ever ran across any real anti-veteran people. Only exception was a few civilians that felt I was paid to much, I offered to take them to the recruiter and introduce them to military life but they shut up quick. I have had quite a few Vietnam Vets thank me for my service. I would thank them for their service as well. Funny thing about these retarded anti war turds. They hate us, but when we get attacked they are the first to ask for help. I am not ashamed to say that I am a combat vet, and no one else should be as well. And if they think that we are these "evil" people, then I invite them to go to Iraq, Iran, Sryia, Russia, Afghanistan, and so forth. Most of the time it goes along the lines of "you think you're so special."<br /><br />I just let it go.
