This phrase bothers me... Does the battlefield make accomadations for anyone?

CW4 Private RallyPoint Member This is great information. I think the author of this book has really hit on some very key points. Yes, we will most likely have women serving in combat now and in the future (that will continue to grow), but there are things that we haven't taken into consideration with women and the challenges they face as outlined: "illnesses and mortality rates of women in Iraq and Afghanistan and post-traumatic stress to medical concerns, reproductive health, homecomings, motherhood in wartime and more." I believe there is a lot work still to be done, but this book definitely helps put a lot into perspective. It should be required reading for men and women in all levels of leadership roles throughout the services. Just my opinion!

Opening all MOS's in the Marine Corps to women will adversely effect the recruiting and combat effectiveness of the Marine Corps. It is -impossible- to believe that the action of the Defense Department in this matter is being done in good faith.
