I ask this due to the number of folks here who are Veterans and may have felt compelled to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving next to or with some of us. I put in the volunteer hours at the USO and other organizations, but when asked about honoring the fallen from the 101st Airborne Division's two Combat Aviation Brigades, I felt as most probably do, that I needed to contribute.

There has been a decade long action to build a new museum on Fort Campbell, but this memorial is separate in that it honors the men and women who have flown, maintained or supported the aviation of the 101st.

Let the folks on RP know about those you find worthy of giving your time, donation or talents to in order to honor their sacrifice. Add your links and share your thoughts.

In the picture last year on November 11th 2016, Veteran's day at the podium is Me as Commander of the American Legion Post 208, Millis, MA acting as Master of ceremonies for the dedication for a new Memorial to honor recent Veteran's of The Persian Gulf War, Panama, Grenada.and other hostilities in the post Viet Nam era. The Memorial behind Me and the American flag in the New Memorial. Already standing in this Veteran's Park are Memorial to WWII, Korea and Viet Nam. The Viet Nam and Korean War Memorial were moved here from another location in town earlier about one year ago. The American Legion Post 208, and AMVETS, Post 495, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 1515 and the Town Veteran's Service Officer Cynthia Harris, TSgt, USAF (Ret) all had worked hard on all these Memorials. Edward Shropshire a WWII Veteran of the US Coast Guard and Member of Legion Post 208 had drawn the plans for the park and it appeared exactly as He had planned. this includes foot paths, parking and benches . This park is in front of the Veteran's Memorial building, which is the Millis Town Hall.
The Memorials to WWI and earlier war, to include the Spanish America war, Civil War, Revolutionary war and French and Indian War are approx a half mile away in a park next to the front of the American Legion Post Building. That also has had a new hard surface paths and benches added in the past few years. That had been a project of an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scout Troop 115 which our Legion Post sponsors.

CW5 Sam R. Baker The PATTON Museum at Chiraco Summit, CA,20 miles East of Indio has a wall of Memorial Bricks. There are 4 each HAYDEN bricks there.

I also have a brick at the 40th I D Korean War Memorial at Camp Cook, CA ; now Vandenberg AFB, where the 40th division trained upon being actived for Korea in 1950.

The 'Museum of the U S Army' regularly receives checks from me as does the American Legion.

The deceased mother of my sons loved to dance; before we met she did so at the Hollywood USO.
