Please feel free to read this 3 page letter I need all support and input on this please. He served with the 7th INF at Heart Break Ridge and surrounding area's. If you are trying to get the purple heart that can be difficult without medical records and witnesses. Same for heroism, you need several witnesses and statements. Korea itself has several awards to recognize American veterans who actually fought in Korea during the war there. They also sponsor trips to Korea. What medal are you seeking? When you answer the Qs we can move forward. A Congressman can definitely help. I've seen cases where a letter to the Chief of Staff or Service Secretary got things moving. Valid cases do get approved if supported by facts.
