Not good enough for us but ok for the nation as a whole. Response by SFC James Baber made Dec 27 at 2013 8:48 PM 2013-12-27T20:48:26-05:00 2013-12-27T20:48:26-05:00 SSG William Patton 28487 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I think that if the military does a film about a specific soldier, then that soldier should be paid for his story and using his/her name.  But, all the producer has to do is change the name and the story line to make it a work of fiction and they get around that requirement.  As for soldiers being paid I have to agree with James and see that as being a paid mercenary which is forbidden by law and the soldier's ethical code.  Money is not an issue for most who serve.  I damn sure did not join up for the $85 net pay I received in my first check from the Army.  I could have made more flippin burgers than what the Army paid me.  It is a desire to serve the country, to give something back and be part of something bigger than yourself.  At least that is how I feel about it.
