How many of my SM, Retired, DOD Civilian friends on RP have been railed in to less than hospitable rooms?

Kidding, kidding. I actually stayed in a nice Hilton when I had to make a weekend trek to Charlotte back in December. They mailed my check to the wrong address and I have to wait a few more months to get the money back, but the room was really nice.

I was traveling TDY for a few days and DTS put me in a nasty little motel. But you know what, I had been in Iraq a year earlier so I didn't mind all that much, haha.

What is your definition of less than hospitable rooms? I personally think 97% of the rooms I stayed in were hospitable when I was not in a tent or open bay.

I usually do a bit of research first and make sure my hotel is "legit" before selecting it in DTS.

Keep it coming, my RP community. It is all about sharing! DTS, is always a challenge :) I thought my current trip was challenging...nope, an impending trip to Okinawa has been the most challenging. Not DTS problem this time...SPAWAR wanting me to complete an ISOPREP while I don't have SIPR account, yeah, I got that goin' for me.

I can relate some horror stories that have happened to my "regulator" friends (NRC, FEMA, DOE). Luckily, as a contractor-scumbag (or "rat bastard" depending on who you ask), I don't use travel services.

I make it a condition of all my contracts (GSA per diem or less) for all lodging. I'll skimp on the meals to make sure I'm not staying at the Roach Motel or the Bates Motor Inn.
