Hahahahahahahahaha! I think the Army put that on the website just to make you THINK you have some kind of input into your career. I would do what SSG Howell suggested. But FIRST, get some stripes. The first time I called my Branch Assignments person as a Specialist, I was essentially told to go piss up a rope and that I would go where the Army wanted me. Once I became a NCO, I was actually talked to like a human being and got to at least get my HAAP of choice after I did a year in Korea (Needs of the Army). As for calling your branch manager, you can, but I would ask for your NCO or 1SG's guidance before doing that, or have them contact branch for you.
