I presented my DD-214, but was told I need the citations that go with it. We never received citations, as we would just login to Marine net or whatever it was and see our awards. What would the next step be? contacting the VA? HQMC? Any ideas? You&#39;re just dealing with an inexperienced S-1. <br />I had the same issues when I switched branches, most personnel clerks have no idea how to deal with prior service, so they default toArmy&#39;isms (the Army doesn&#39;t use the Unit Diary system), not realizing that most branches don&#39;t give out certificates for half of what the Army does. He contacted someone at the marine HR department i dont know the lingo. But anyhow they printed off his entire record and mailed it to him. He got all of his awards ipermed and was good to go.
