Be very careful in managing your blood pressure. Higher values are now tolerated. Seems there were problems with lowering B/P to much. I exercise, watch what I eat and take statins for cholesterol and I am on two B/P meds .A pretty smart Doc I used to work with suggested flax seed oil for Omega fatty acids. One group that should not go blindly into this is the Type I diabetic as they will need to modify due to their disease state.
A ketogenic diet does offer a major course correction for the body in that it reduces insulin resistance which can contribute to triglyceride issues. Beyond the obvious, I've read interesting studies posted to the NIH regarding the consumption of hibiscus tea and garlic supplementation. Now I take both regularly and have noticed a drop in my blood pressure. I would consistently be around 135/86 a few months ago and now in the 120/78 range.

I've only had a problem with my systolic numbers before hovering around the hypertension area. The good news is that the passing standard now is 140/90. I think it was 135/85 before.
