How do Army service stripes work (I've seen some service stripes only worn on the left sleeve but sometimes on both sleeves)?

In army the left sleeve is time in service, one stripe for every 3 years of service. Right sleeve is deployment stripes, one stripe for every 6 months of deployment.

Service stripes you get one for every three years that is on the left the ones on the right are your combat stripes you get one for every 6 months in a combat zone

the Navy wears them on the left sleeve and you get one for ever 4 yrs. it coincides with getting a Good Conduct ribbon

Hey Boyd,
If you seen service stripes on both sleeves, is the Army dress blues, not the Army Service Uniform which only has them on the left sleeve.
