How does the sites implementation of Influence Score affect your activity on the site, etc.?

I only joined the site recently and have basically found that the Influence Points are a well implemented tool to keep users engaged through private competition based on how active they are on the site and in the community. I actually really enjoy and it would love to see something similar implemented on other sites. I enjoy the use of badges and points to see who's really done what around here.

How does this system affect your use of the site? Do you even care one way or the other about it? Go ahead and answer, then provide a short explanation below.

What are some ways that the system can be improved, modified, or taken further?

It doesn't influence me at all...except the fact that I constantly check it to see me dropping everyday I don't get on and post. But lets be real...Marines are competitive and if we aren't first...

I really do not care about the influence score per se but a the competitor in me thinks it is fun. However, I think some are posting things just to influence their score.

I am really apathetic towards it. I would be doing the same thing with or without it. It does give yardstick to see how engaged someone is with RP as a community.

It almost makes me Obsessive Compulsive towards checking in. I really think it stresses me out more than it helps me. I check back often anyway but if I see a negative fall in influence it drives me to keep on the site...
