How many “leaders” on this site actually care about helping service members or just helping anyone in general?
I have a very serious issue that I need assistance with and I need to know if this site is legit or not

There's a wealth of experienced people who are more than willing to provide objective and subjective advice to their comrades in arms on general and specific issues. The quality of the advice is consistently excellent, but its effectiveness often depends upon the askers attitude and willingness to accept it.

There are enough.
Don't take my word for it. Odds are someone else has addressed the same issue in the last few years, use the search function to see how it went.
If it doesn't come up at all in a search, post anyway and I am sure more than one will give you the right answer.

Forewarned, you may not get the response you want if your required help is "How do I beat the ART 15 and pending separation for getting caught on a piss test again and selling to my room mates...I mean it was just weed" or another like self inflected wound.

If I don't know the answer, then I either know where to generally look for the answer or know someone who has the answer. I'll help whomever however I can whenever I can.

Most RallyPoint members will try to help a fellow vet or service member. It will be easier if you complete as much of your profile as possible and get verified. That gives us something to go on when you ask for help and advice.

We try to help- but being retired. most of us at out of the loop. Asking we are legit- we could ask the same of you. If it is sympathy on wrong doing- you will be disappointed. We are not JAG nor the IG and w/o any info you are going to get anything anyway.

I would say that there are a good may out there. I have been with RP from the early days and have worked with countless Soldiers on giving them advance and mentoring them. I know many others also care and try to help.

My providing advice depends upon the question submitted, not so much the individual. However I will tend to stay within my lanes of knowledge and experience. If you are asking how to avoid some unpleasant aspect of the military, there will be no response. If it is in regards to a specific function of which I have some familiarity such as MOS 38B; Civilian GS 0081; Bagpipes; Motorcycles; and some other Ephemera, then I may be able to assist depending upon when I choose to read or am on line.
