Usually if it's loose or just simply doesn't look right... I'll go inside and pay.... also give the clerk a heads up... When I was in Gordon, Navy Fed noticed that I was making purchases down there and a random purchase in Canada and they automatically froze my account until I called them Response by SPC(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 23 at 2016 10:49 PM 2016-04-23T22:49:28-04:00 2016-04-23T22:49:28-04:00 PO1 Brian Austin 1474822

It happened to my son back in Feb. Well, it turned out that the card and the AT&T customer service used the same call center. The person on the phone checked my account - and a month later had two brand new computers delivered to an empty lot in San Antonio, Texas... I was living in Ohio.

The card was cancelled, we didn't have to pay - BUT - we ended up finding out that the customer service rep got busted because of our report. It ended up being a HUGE card-copying ring. This is about 20 years ago. A list of 100 credit card numbers usually sells for about $5 online. That should give you an indication of how common it is. I didn't suspect anything until I started getting rather nasty calls from a collection agency. It took me months to get that mess all straightened out.To make it more confusing I actually had one of that bank's cards and didn't realize that they were talking about a different account when they first started calling. We had some very unfriendly conversations. When you get one of those "preapproved" card applications be sure and run it through a shredder before you toss it in the trash. All that someone has to do is change the address and send it in. Response by SGT Jerrold Pesz made Apr 25 at 2016 1:50 AM 2016-04-25T01:50:46-04:00 2016-04-25T01:50:46-04:00 2016-04-23T22:30:00-04:00
