The 20mm cannon is clearly visible. A good idea badly executed, the M114's were underpowered, offered poor cross country mobility and when fully loaded, could only carry a commander, driver and observer. 1LT Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 05 May 2014 19:11:42 -0400 2014-05-05T19:11:42-04:00 Response by SFC Mark Merino made Nov 14 at 2014 6:03 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-many-veterans-remember-these?n=327267&urlhash=327267 <div class="images-v2-count-1"><div class="content-picture image-v2-number-1" id="image-13490"> <div class="social_icons social-buttons-on-image"> <a href='https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rallypoint.com%2Fanswers%2Fhow-many-veterans-remember-these%3Futm_source%3DFacebook%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_campaign%3DShare%20to%20facebook' target="_blank" class='social-share-button facebook-share-button'><i class="fa fa-facebook-f"></i></a> <a href="https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=How+many+VETERANS+Remember+these%3F&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rallypoint.com%2Fanswers%2Fhow-many-veterans-remember-these&amp;via=RallyPoint" target="_blank" class="social-share-button twitter-custom-share-button"><i class="fa fa-twitter"></i></a> <a href="mailto:?subject=Check this out on RallyPoint!&body=Hi, I thought you would find this interesting:%0D%0AHow many VETERANS Remember these?%0D%0A %0D%0AHere is the link: https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-many-veterans-remember-these" target="_blank" class="social-share-button email-share-button"><i class="fa fa-envelope"></i></a> </div> <a class="fancybox" rel="590e310e602def6079de4652a9f533d5" href="https://d1ndsj6b8hkqu9.cloudfront.net/pictures/images/000/013/490/for_gallery_v2/hmmwvasp30mmautocannon.jpg"><img src="https://d1ndsj6b8hkqu9.cloudfront.net/pictures/images/000/013/490/large_v3/hmmwvasp30mmautocannon.jpg" alt="Hmmwvasp30mmautocannon" /></a></div></div>Yes. 9th ID "fast attack" was around the first couple years I was in the infantry. I've seen many of them as targets on ranges, but never in actual service. As mech infantry I did spend a lot of time on M113s, the A1 and A2 versions. I prefer the lateral steering to that new steering the A3 version had. Near the end of my active service I did spend some time on Bradleys. My first platform in OSUT and at my first duty station in Hohenfels, GE, was M113A1s. I liked those things.
