I do not see how there is a slight degree of difference when there is only one section for O-#e that caps at O-3E. You&#39;ll get $4,329.90 and yes your BAH rate varies based on rank and marital/dependent status. Thereafter, you&#39;ll never see the OE thing again. That&#39;s why it applies to O-1 through O-3. People cross over at different points, but you&#39;ll see a cap on the OE scale. O-4 over 12 years is more than the capped OE. Depending on how you progress, it runs about $400-800 more a month before you leave it for good. And that will happen at O-3/12 years. Same number either way.<br /><br />BTW the OE thing is there because you should be of more value at the junior grades, hence you&#39;ll get paid for it. My choice was to Accept E-5 or O-1E. It was $535/month back in &#39;76 so that part was easy.
