How to sell a firearm to a private party?

I'm selling a Glock to a private party and I had some legal questions. I've never used a bill of sale before in a transaction regarding a firearm, always a PPP. He has a valid CCW and said he would sign a bill of sale. My question is do I have to involve a sales tax for this transaction? How would that work?

What i would do however is check your local laws and contact the local Law enforcement or a Local FFL dealer.

Or go to a FFL and have them transfer the Firearm for you, there will be a fee but its probably the Safest way to do it.

PFC Mullins,

Is the person someone that you know and trust? Reason for this question is that my grandfather used to buy, sale, and trade weapons, however it is important to know where they reside (State), there could be some potential issues for a "straw" sale of a weapon to someone from out of state that you don't know. Meaning that if you don't know them or someone who does you need to ask some questions because the buyer could work for the ATF or FBI. Just a little advice.

1. have gun for sale
2. have buyer for said gun
3. exchange legal tender for said gun
4. party with legal tender or use to buy another better gun
