How to speed up the time to Advanced Leaders Course - Common Core? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-to-speed-up-the-time-to-advanced-leaders-course-common-core <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I just completed my ALC-CC. 18 months after completing residence course. It only took my 3 weeks from start date until the time I finished. I understand the lack of facilitators and that is the reason it is so backed up but after taking it and seeing how easy it really was I think it could be a shorter course than the 90 days they give you in order to speed the process up. Maybe cut it down to 45 days or something? Anyone else have any ides how to speed the process up? Anyone else have to wait 18 months between residence course and common core? It took me a total of 6 days to complete. I just stayed late after work and on weekends. If I can do it as a Drill Sergeant, I believe everyone can. It would help get that back log under control for sure. Because ICH's and resources equall money.  We are in a no growth Army. So we can take away from classes but can't add to with out a bill payer(someone gives up some resources or ICHs which involves kicking and scratching cause when it's gone, it's gone).  Now we have a good foundation, here is why the above is important to the current structure.  Over the last 10+ years, Soldiers have been dodging NCOES's by using the operational deferment/conditional promotion plan or system.  Now before I get beat up, this did help Soldiers that needed it,  But that's not the case for everyone.  This way out caused huge issues with the class size requirement.  Every unfilled seat cost money (iCH's and resources are paid for).  The class min when i was working at TRADOC was 18 for my MOS.  Imagine how much money is lost if they can't start a class!  To stop the hemoraging of lost money, TRADOC cut the number of classes per year Inorder to fill classes.  Change is Slow in the Army, it will take time to get back.  Here is the proof in the pudding.  The crunch to get a seat hit when it was again required to attend NCOES to get promoted.  Promotions affect pocket books, everyone wants to get paid right!  Now the sad part is, that Soldiers attempting to do the right thing have to wait behind Soldiers who took the easy way to get paid since they have seniority.
