Dude, you're a 42A. Paperwork is your thing lol. Check out the website that CW5 Private RallyPoint Member posted, and I would highly recommend that you talk it over with your first line supervisor. I guarantee you that someone in your S1 shop can guide you in the right direction and/or knows someone who's gone through the process of dropping their packet.

No need to repeat, but follow what CW5 Scott Montgomery posted and you cannot go wrong. Plus, that entire website is good as a whole for gathering information on becoming a Warrant Officer. As a PV2, you have a long way to go, however, you are one step ahead by already thing of making this transition this early on in your military career. Best of luck to you!

Damn, If I were 20 years younger I would be all over the cyber security and networking warrant packet. CW5 Scott Montgomery, if I am not mistaken the warrant ranks are the best kept secret in the Army. Better pay and half the BS of the O ranks.

It's great that you are looking ahead and becoming a Warrant Officer is a great goal to work towards. You have until you are promoted to Staff Sergeant to prepare yourself to meet and exceed the expectations previous listed. I would work on your college education as well as becoming the best NCO you can achieve to be. One year college needed to apply. Preferred to have a 2 year degree. More to be competitive with other outstanding NCO's. A 4 years degree will be expected to be competitive for promotion to senior Warrant Officer ranks. I speak from experience. One of the reasons I am not still in today was a 4 year civilian education degree. A 4-year degree became the factor for selection to CW4 when everything else was equal. I say this because now is the time to work at finishing your degree while you have free time available. Some assignments make college courses difficult to complete, so take them whenever you can. If you decide for something else later, the education can still be put to use. College also helps for promotion points for NCO promotions as well which is also very competitive. Good Luck.
