I had a recruiter tell me my papers will say “Reserve” upon commissioning, but when I get to Texas I’ll recommission in as active? The moment you swear in they will first commission you as reserves and when you get to Fort Sam during in processing for BOLC they will swear you into active duty. ( this what several nurses and doc went through) As long as your first duty station is Fort Sam for BOLC.

By the way your contract you sign in , will say what compo your going into. If it says reserves and not active then you need to have a different talk with the recruiter.
