I'm going to get promoted to CW3 in the next couple of months. What is the "tradition" for supplying food/refreshments for my promotion?

When I was on active duty, we used our "first month's pay raise" as a general guideline for a food/refreshment budget.

That’s what I always heard and even tried to do when I made my 5 and 6. Worked in staff shops so did shop parties

When I was at Fort Knox and whenever an NCO got promoted they took the difference between their previous pay and their new pay for the party.

No offense, but officers can be some cheap son of a bitches concerning these matters. Don’t be that guy spend like a drunken sailor on your promotion to CW3.
