SPC Private RallyPoint Member Eat the elephant one bite at a time, dont worry too much about ranks beyond the Company Grade (2ndLt-Capt) for now. Being an officer is like it sounds, a lot of office work. Your primary job is to set the example at all times, secondary to train, empower and administer to your NCOs and SNCOs, tertiary to be extremely competent in all your own individual actions.

Its alternating from leadership to staff jobs starting at the platoon, company, battalion, brigade, and to a degree at the GO level. If you don't go combat arms, you will have very little chance maybe 1 out of 10,000 of becoming a BG.

I am giving you some good advice. Don't say you are going to be the Honor Graduate and a future General. You will make instant enemies with those who want to be the Honor Graduate and cadets who are more humble in their approach.
