If I request an increase of my disability rating will my current payments stop until I get a decision if it’ll increase of decrease?

No, current benefits continue until decision is reached on the request for increased benefits.

No it will not stop, however it can go down based on the determination. They will relook your entire packet not just the request for increase. Thank you for your service.

No but they will ask for new c and p exams for all your disabilities... I just did 3 exams because I asked for a earlier effective date and I was 100% p and t... for ptsd but had to redo all of my c and p exams...

Short answer no, work with your Local DAV, VFW, other veteran organization, and or the local VA VET Center staff. Often if you are already in the system the Vet Center staff can help you get through the quagmire faster.

No, your payments will not stop. And, you will get a lump sum deposited in your bank acct. For any increase going back to you original increase request file date.

No. I know from my own experience that your benefits will continue at the current level until a decision is made on your application to increase your rating.

Some more advice: A DAV rep told me when I applied for an upgrade (after a critical surgery, a good reason): "We're going to apply for an upgrade, and the application will be rejected. Then we'll apply again and it might well be rejected again. Then we'll apply again and it will be approved." In other words, the VA doesn't make it easy, hoping you'll give up and they won't have to be inconvenienced or pay you more. So the MORAL of the story is, don't give up.

I'd also strongly advise you to get help from a counselor at the DAV, VFW, or some other Veterans' Service Organization. They can really help and advise you in the application process. When it's you vs. the government, it's always a good idea to make it you plus a large organization vs. the government. :)
