If I were to re-enlist to reclassify, but get promoted to SGT before my school date, can I lose that job? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/if-i-were-to-re-enlist-to-reclassify-but-get-promoted-to-sgt-before-my-school-date-can-i-lose-that-job <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently attending BLC and my current MOS (88K) is CLI so I will more likely than not get promoted 1March. I was hoping to reclass soon because my DEROS is 28March. The MOS I want is accepting both SPC and SGTs. Did someone tell you that could happen? In fact, it&#39;s part of the statement you sign when reenlisting for training. It&#39;s in AR 601-280 Appendix E-3.<br />In top of that, if you&#39;re OCONUS the class date for the MOS you want has to be within 60 days of your DEROS. Plus when big army pays for the training you will PCS and receive it enroute. If your DEROS is this March, you probably don&#39;t have enough time to get the job you want. Also I knew someone from another unit that made points for SGT while he was in AIT reclassing and he showed up to the unit as an E5 WO1 Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 23 Jan 2018 06:43:16 -0500 2018-01-23T06:43:16-05:00 Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 23 at 2018 9:55 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/if-i-were-to-re-enlist-to-reclassify-but-get-promoted-to-sgt-before-my-school-date-can-i-lose-that-job?n=3285284&urlhash=3285284 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Take the 5 and run! Chances are you&#39;re going to get promoted in your reclass anyway AND you&#39;re giving another E4 the chance to be promoted in the 88K. Win for you to get the E5 and still move on and a win for the other soldier taking the slot that you were supposed to fill.
