Is the state you&#39;re wishing to transfer to have a slot to put you in? If there isn&#39;t, you would need to change MOS&#39;s so it&#39;s challenging to answer your question without knowing if there&#39;s a slot to put you in somewhere else. Having said that, I would finish AIT first but definitely check to see if a slot is there for you in the other state. Your unit Readiness NCO isn&#39;t going to do much of anything until he sees if you actually make it through IET. When you get MOS qualified, then contact your Chain of Command and the Readiness NCO about InterState Transfer. This is a website that gives you the basics of how to go about it. The only additional comment I would make is I recommend being pro active and talk to a recruiter in your new location. They should have the current vacancies. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.nationalguard.com/how-to-transfer-to-another-state">https://www.nationalguard.com/how-to-transfer-to-another-state</a> <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="https://www.nationalguard.com/how-to-transfer-to-another-state">Army National Guard</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description"></p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> CPT Lawrence Cable Tue, 03 Dec 2019 13:32:20 -0500 2019-12-03T13:32:20-05:00 Response by MSgt Michael Smith made Dec 4 at 2019 8:36 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-it-possible-to-get-an-interstate-transfer-before-boot-camp-or-would-i-have-to-wait-until-after-ait?n=5305147&urlhash=5305147 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I love questions like this. Your not even in the military yet and you already want a waiver for some personal preference. Has it occurred to you that if you are so focused on your personal, individual needs that maybe the military in general isn&#39;t right for you? Personal preference doesn&#39;t get a lot of priority in the military. No offense. Also, you are not a PVT, you are a recruit.
