At the very minimum, there is a counseling stating why he is being chaptered and what chapter will be used. Also included, will be what Discharge the Commander recommends. Your friend will also be provided the opportunity to seek legal counsel in regards to the chapter. As for the process....the process takes as long as it takes. It needs to reach every single level in the Chain of Command to be reviewed by that level of Commander and their SJA representative to ensure the packet is complete and not missing anything. If your friend has not received any news, then it&#39;s not officially done yet. Has your friend asked the NCO Chain if they have a status update?

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have never in my career seen a Chapter 13 (APFT Failure) be a other than honorable. That Soldier would have been chaptered out under a misconduct chapter. The only way to NOT get an honorable (General under honorable) is to have disciplinary infractions. The Soldier will get an opportunity to see his chapter after he is notified and sees Defense Counsel. Your boy is just freaking out way too much.
