Is PCS leave another way of saying travel days, or is it separate?

Having a hard time interpreting ALARACT 038-2020 that says no more than 10 PCS leave days to include travel. ; later it says that PTDY and Ordinary leave is to be requested by gaining unit. So is PCS leave chargeable or is it travel days?

When you pcs.you need a da 31. Based on how far you are going they have a matrix for how many travel days are authorized. If say, youre authorized 4 days; you could only tack on 6 on that particular leave form. The 4 days would not be chargeable.

In regard to the ALARACT what it means is that if your travel time is six days you can only take the six days of leave which are your travel days and not chargeable leave. No personal leave days. If you’re flying OCONUS you’ll only fly straight there and no leave in conjunction with PCS.

Pcs leave is separate from travel days. Right now PCS leave in conjunction with TDY is not allowed without a hardship reason.

Based on the travel restrictions. 10 days if needed. But it is point to point. No stopping to see the family. If PTDY IS requested, gaining is the approval authority once you get to that end. And no. Travel days are non chareable.
