Is there a higher chance of passing selection for Ranger Regiment after attending Ranger School, or is there really no correlation?

Any benefit to completing Ranger School prior to trying out for Regiment?

I know at least 2 SF National Guard units that send soldiers to Ranger school prior to SFAS. I don't know for a fact that it increases the likelihood of being selected (haven't seen any studies or numbers), but I don't think they would waste the money/time of sending soldiers if it didn't yield results at selection.

When it comes to RASP, having your tab definitely won’t hurt you

Advice that was given to me when I asked the same question. If you worried about making through ranger school or rasp then maybe it’s not for you. What I am saying is don’t focus your energy in it and focus on when!

My RIP class (back before it was called RASP) didn't have anyone with a tab, but from talking with Ranger buddies who had tabbed E4s and E5s in their class, it didnt help any.
For E6 and above, you're selected to attend RASP2. If you're accepted to attend then they already want you and think you have a chance of passing

It depends on rank and MOS. If your a 11B SSG, they pretty much expect you to have it already. If your a 35 series CW2, they will ask if you would like to go to school, but wont force it. Having the tab is only a very small portion of what they look at.

Normally you have to be Tabbed for them to consider you for the Regt, unless you have a critical MOS.
