I actually like some of the articles that have a link to a well-written piece in the news. I depend on it now everyday when I'm on RP. There are some that don't make sense (like my post about North Korea yesterday), but there are some that have valuable information and great pointers for the younger leadership on RP. It's a good mix with both commentary and links that works on this site. Sometimes "It is what it is!"<br /><br />By the way, that is why I try to only post something of value (most of the time) and only periodically. I think it is good to mix up a little. Sometimes just plain commentary can be boring too. Response by COL Mikel J. I'm so tired of people skimming 'reading' one or two sentences of an article and then slapping a ridiculous comment that has little to no value, or even relevancy. Then, when people respond, there's nothing but darts and fireworks, so infuriating. We're a HOT mess and somehow forgot how to comprehensively read and communicate. I digress. sigh. I like what you did with the chain and logo. Totally jealous. As far as the headlines being posted, that was one of the reasons I left FB. I liked coming here to be around like minds who loved discussing military issues. Even when they are totally wrong (LOL) I knew what I was in for. Now, we have to wade through oceans of stupid crap just to find that nugget we are looking for. Us retired old farts are usually having to post in the general category because we are becoming less connected to current events within the military. I would be cutting off too many like ninds if I blocked that group but this is a pain in the butt. Some people post inane questions just to accrue points. It drives me crazy that you can't just post something on this site you think others might like to read, or to share a thought you had or something interesting you noticed, without asking it in the form of a question. This isn't Jeopardy. We are all grownups and perfectly capable of engaging in discussion - or not, as we prefer. Sometimes it's nice to share without having to artificially generate a conversation on every single topic.
