I recently started talking to someone on Instagram, claiming to be in the Army. I saw pictures of her in uniform and I mentioned I wanted to send her a care package but no bad intentions. She asked me how much I was going to send her. I was thinking books, candy, k-cups, etc. She told me it isn't that she doesn't appreciate it but she thought I wanted to send her a complete military female care package and said around $800. I was in the military and no one has ever said anything like that. What do you think is going on? She said Camp Humphry requires it to be mailed by US Military Red Cross agents.

PO1 Rick Serviss "What do you think is going on?"
With just the info you posted? I think its a scam.
4 combat deployments, many dozens of long training deployments and not once have I heard the term "complete military female care package" and not once did I see a care package come in with $800 in goods other than the ones from business and corporations.
And you can mail a package to any SM at Camp Humphry directly, just need their military mailing address.

PM me a full name and Id be happy to do some research on her

I retired in 2000 and told her I have never heard of that term and she said things have changed since then. I asked her what's in it and she told me private self cares for lady troops on deployment. She listed shaving powder, body lotion, sanitizer, pads and other private stuff for women. I'm like okay. lol

That sounds super suspicious. I've never heard of that wording to descriibe a care package. And they want you to send $800? I have also never heard of US Military Red Cross agents. I am 99% sure neither of those are real things. The major red flag is that they asked for cash. That and they call it Camp Humphry instead of Camp Humphreys. I would cut ties and avoid this person. Pretty sure they are trying to scam you.

I've never heard of a "complete female care package", even google can't match those words together.
The Red Cross does not usually handle personal mail. Sounds very suspicious.
USAG Humphreys website states "All Soldiers are eligible to receive a free P.O. Box address at their primary installation. This can be set up during in-processing the Soldier’s final destination installation. APO P.O. Box functions just like a regular US Mailing address with only minor restrictions." There is not need to send personal mail through any other source than the US Postal Service (if she is truly stationed there).
