They also sell SIM cards (and minutes) at the same stand. Or you can get WiFi if you have an Apple phone and use it in your clu, hooch, barracks, or tent depending on the berthing. If you can use T-Moble on WiFi calling your should be good. I have Verizon and would calm to the states regularly while on WiFi. Also got a lot of spam calls too.
