Wondering if I will be able to keep my rank. Some say i have to be paid first(which is in June) others say I have had to make it before the next test cycle(which is April).

The honest answer is “maybe.” Which Reserves are you transferring too? The Navy? If it’s Navy, it’s probably need to find a E-5 spot in a USNR unit. If you are changing services, you will most likely get bumped down to E-4.

As long as you find an E-5 slot in the Reserve unit your transferring to with no break in service I don't see why not. If your going into IRR it should remain E-5. It depends on how long you were to stay IRR if you'd remain an E-5

Anyone more knowledgeable of the Navy should have a more specific answer. Thanks for your continued plans of service!

Will you be getting paid by then? I'm pretty sure you'll keep it either way, but you have a better chance if you're already getting paid for it... What percentile did you make it in? And how many people advanced to PO2 in your rate? You can kinda gauge it by that... The Navy works a lot differently than the Army or Air Force so just take those answers with a grain of salt lol
