The Marines just put this into effect. I don't see how a general test is good for all MOS in the military. What we have learned is that we aren't all the same and have to perform at different levels. Of these jobs the Marines made gender neutral standards. I don't even have an issue if a female wants to try as long as she can pass. I have seen guys in the infantry that shouldn't have been there. But it just seems that the Marines are spearheading this from a different approach. I am not sure how this will affect the Army or if it will at all. It's the only impartial gender neutral system that I can think of. It makes no sense we promote all MOS with the same PT standards. Infantry should have a higher standard than personnel or finance. The MOS test needs to adequately reflect true job requirements. More upper body strength for mechanics more endurance for light infantry. So I've always kind of thought that Marines were nuts, lol. But evidently, with this, they're the only sane players in the house --who'd'a thunkit?! Here's to hoping the Nav follows suit.
