New AR 670-1, Horseshoe Hair?

Just received some training info prior to the publishing of the new AR 670-1, and it mentions that horseshoe hair for males is unauthorized. I'm thinking this is fairly off the wall as I have never seen a hairstyle like it in the Army. Only thing it reminds me of is someone balding who gets a high and tight. Anyone else ever seen something like this?

Mostly a Marine Corps cut...but some 'hardcore' Soldiers enjoy it.

this haircut is tapered to a very short flat top, it is essentially a landing strip (in the middle), it used to be my hairstyle of choice....had nothing to do with balding

Unfortunately, I know a few older Soldiers who look like this this whenever they get a high and tight. It's not their intent, just the hazards of male pattern baldness..

But yeah, when I was a Marine, this cut was EVERYWHERE. Very popular.

It is from a high and tight flat top with a very short flat top. The top of the head is shaved, and the hair in the front and on the sides is level with the top of the scalp, giving the appearance of a flat top.

What I Found interesting about the new haircut rules was the no teardrop rule. I remember the Commandant of WLC at Ft. Campbell back in 2009 had that hairstyle and he said that he was never questioned about being within regs.

In BCT this female got there with a mohawk, maybe she wanted to look tough even though she quit later, the Drill Sergeants made her go to the barber shop with us the males to get her hair "fixed". She got a GI Jane haircut. I haven't see a u-shaped haircut but I've seen crazy things around...

I'll never totally understand the high and tight. Granted. I've maintained a fade and for the most part side burns since that first haircut. But some of these cuts look like Burt and Ernie cuts. And if someone interviewed with me with a super high and tight I'd probably turn them around unless they were awesome. (Yes the world is shallow and looks kinda matter- which is why 670-1 exists).

The only time I saw that was those guys going bald and still sporting a high and tight

Never as a fashion statement on one who had the choice of hair.
But hey I retired 14 months ago, perhaps it's been a wild world of hair style change in that year....lol

Before I embraced my baldness I could look like this with a 'high and tight.'
Of course since I started my no-maintenance hairstyle 14 years ago I haven't looked back!

Full disclosure, with my male pattern baldness, high and tights are starting to resemble this =..o(
