Old combat uniforms in home-station: sell or destroy?

I'm getting pressure on reducing my stockpile of old BDU/ACU/OCP uniforms and boots from the last 20 years, I don't think I've ever thrown one set away. I think I know the right answer, but I'm wanting to hear your opinions. I know it's a hot commodity on ebay...

I think you may consider removing the pressure on reducing your store ;-)

Get them to an Army surplus store so others can purchase them if they need them.

SGM CSM Eric Olsen, we both know the right answer....if you don't want to turn them in at the supply room, take it to the CIF...or keep the MCU (OCP) as we will be heading that way soon. Congratulations, did you get your assignment yet?

Destroy them. If you have someone that is looking for some for a something like hunting, camping, whatever, then give it to them, but make them unusable as military uniforms... do not list them on a sale site (i.e. ebay/craigslist) it just gives the wrong people the right access.

You can find all the answers you could possibly want in AR 735-5, AR 710-2, and DA PAM 710-2-1, Master Sergeant.

I have all my uniforms too. I was lucky enough to get my hands on an arctic camo set ;)

I tend to give old cammies to family members. Of course, I have a lot of family that hunts, so the uniforms save them money. And, if they don't hunt, they use them for working outside, painting, etc.

I've also cut some up and made patches for field repairs to cammies that have otherwise met their maker (usually in the form of C-wire), book covers when I get bored, or any multitude of "things".

If I DO throw something away, (obviously) it gets sanitized, and I take a box cutter, shears, a sturdy pocket knife, and render them unserviceable.My wife sold a set or two at a yard sale once; thankfully, she removed the Seabee logo (well, the entire left breast pocket) and all Branch / name tags.

I am always on the lookout for BDU's and Class A's. My students (club not actual JROTC) wear them and march in parades. We are trying to get JROTC in my school, but I wont let them wear current uniforms until we do.
