Talk to your career counselor and readiness NCO. They would be the only ones to tell you how much of a chance you really have. You can go through the whole process but in the end it’s your commanders decision. There are shortages because there are a lack of class seats. 31K is very, very unusual to find on reclass because most of the class seats go to initial entry. For some reason it appears to be easier to join the army as a 31K than it is to reclass to one. I have several friends that tried to reclass to 31K but were told they couldn&#39;t get it because it was filled by a new recruit. There are only about 400-500 of us in the army last I checked (could be different now based on the 2016 stats) but that&#39;s still not much room for openings.
