SGT Private RallyPoint Member 443197 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So i just recently graduated AIT and got stationed here at Fort Rucker, where i did my AIT and it is just horrible.. it is nothing like what i was expecting...When i joined i wanted to learn how to be a soldier.. not sit on my butt all day and input -12's into CAFRES.. i realize al MOS's are important and they are all needed... but i can not stand this lol.. So my question to every one on here is this.. What is the best way to get out of this MOS? I dont want to wait until my contract is up to reclass if i dont have to.. is there any way to do this with out sticking it out in this job for 2 more years?? oh and i also considered going 160th but i feel like i would still be doing the same thing lol.. They have a unique mission, the training is challenging at best, and it will maybe provide the spark you need to succeed in your chosen career field. Operations is a lot more than just maintaining aviator flight records, just so you know. There could be a change for you if you decide to make. Learn now, especially if you want to make the military career, have as much influence and care as you can in how your experience in the Army will go. With your aviation background you’ll have a better understanding of what to expect when you get to flight school and go through academics. I did the opposite of what you are asking I was infantry for 12 years and loved it. But I got to a point where I wanted a change and something that I can use outside the military other than infantry type school. Now I’m in flight school and it is way better. But my stick buddy came from aviation to warrant officer to fly. During the first phase of training I was pulling my hair out trying to grasp how the aircraft worked while he was used to it all already. So if your bored and want to do something fun then in my opinion having experience in both sides. Drop a warrant packet, get more pay, get a skill set that you can carry to the civilian sector, and have fun doing it without embracing the suck as a infantryman.
