RP Book Club: First Blood - David Morrell

I think I've made mention of this one before, but never actually done a RP Book Club entry on it.

This is the book which Rambo is based. I could just "drop mic" and leave it at that, however, when we think of Rambo, many of us think of the movies, and most often the Action Movies Rambo II-III as opposed to First Blood, which is more of a Suspense.

This book, and the film has complexities including PTS, and Abuse of Power, which I thought would be a great addition to RP Book Club. Hope you enjoy.

I was shocked at the contrast between the book character and the movie. The book involves a lot more killing, to the point of making the John Rambo character more villain than victim. As I understand it, the movie was originally filmed with a different ending involving Col Troutman killing Rambo but it tested poorly with audiences.

This is a case of (in my opinion) the book being far better than the movie. Great book. Good post.
