Sewn-on Badges on Multicam?

Ive heard it both ways with neither side showing any recent MILPERs, ALARACTs, etc.

Can anyone help me out? I did a quick google search and didnt find anything really helpful.

The Multicam uniform is governed by AR 670-1, ACU regs, and ALARACTS.

ALARACT 20140-2007 states:

9. COMBAT, SPECIAL SKILL, AND IDENTIFICATION BADGES ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO BE WORN ON THE ACU IN FIELD OR IN DEPLOYED ENVIRONMENTS.

SSG Private RallyPoint Member hit it right on the head. You are authorized to wear your skill badges on the multicam uniform but they must be sewn on.

My question is why would you spend the money? I mean it's your decision, I am all for being proud of and displaying your accomplishments on your ACUs that you wear everyday. Just not really sure why you would do it for a deployment? Maybe you won't be wearing your kit everyday?
