Shelter-in-place at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after reports of active shooter

BETHESDA, MD (KTRK) -- The Walter Reed National Military Medical Center campus near Bethesda, Maryland, placed a shelter-in-place order this morning following reports of a suspected active shooter.

Montgomery County Police officers responded but have not confirmed the initial report of a gunshot heard on campus.

At this point, authorities say they're investigating this as a single shot fired. There have been no injuries reported.

More to follow, people are on edge right now after the hype of an ISIS attack. Time and due diligence will tell the threat we have there, could it possibly be a firecracker?

I hope this is not going to be a DMV thing. It was the Navy Yard last Thursday and now Walter Reed today.
