Should I wear ASU to Arlington Funeral?

I’m attending my grandfather’s funeral at Arlington In a few weeks. Should I wear my ASU? I’m a PFC with 16months TIS. I don’t want any attention, but not sure if it would be more appropriate to wear given the location. I wouldn’t wear to a civilian funeral, but unsure what to do. My grandpa has 43 years serving the Marines and I want to honor him properly. Thank you.

Your grandfather's funeral will be in Arlington to honor his service to the nation. Your uniform is a connection between your and your grandfathers service. Wearing the uniform does not draw attention to you, and you don't wear it to highlight yourself. The reason you wear it is to show that your grandfather was part of something bigger than himself, and that his service made him part of a group that continues his service to this day. Your uniform shows that his service was not in vain, and that because of people like him people continue to serve in the same fields. The results of his service will continue to bear fruit, and by wearing your uniform you are a part of this.

Thank you to everyone, except Canada.
I appreciate the feedback and reassurance to my questions. I guess my biggest worry was not doing the proper movements during the ceremony and my being such a lower ranking person in such a prestigious place.

What a better way to HONOR your Grandfather, Freaking "A", wear it, attention or no attention, you won't regret it. If you don't, you will regret it later in life. WEAR IT. And when the time comes, Give him the "Best" salute you can give.

If I right, ASU is the equivalent of fatigues - don't know all the new nomenclature or acronyms. If it is, then in my opinion, ASU's would NOT be appropriate. When my Grandfather passed, I wore Dress Greens. Likewise with a WW2 uncle. Otherwise, a suit and tie would be appropriate for any funeral, anywhere.
Bottom line, DRESS UNIFORM.

Been out for a *long* while but wore *Blues* (and very glad I did) for my father’s (WWII Vet) internment and again when my mother’s name was added a few years later. Can’t say enough good things about the team @ Arlington, they made a difficult time worth cherishing/remembering.
