Should Japan negotiate with the terrorist? Maybe they should because it may be their best option.

The Japanese Constitution prohibits them from having an aggressive army. This is the result of the United States and Japanese agreements after WWII. They are not allowed to operate militarily outside of the Japan as they are labeled as a Self Defense Force.

From a military perspective they cannot legally extract the Japanese citizens at least not that I am aware of. So what is the best course of action to defend their citizens? 1SG Eric Rice Thu, 22 Jan 2015 02:13:36 -0500 2015-01-22T02:13:36-05:00 Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 24 at 2015 11:05 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/should-japan-negotiate-with-isis?n=433555&urlhash=433555

No. We should not negotiate with terrorists or even consider trading anything with anyone. Unless the "negotiation" is.. either you release them now, unharmed or Japan will enter the war on Terror and send their "Self Defense Force" in and wipe out the area who held them. Any give will only encourage more hostage taking.
