And bonus forth.
1 - Never bet more than you can afford to lose.
Set how much you can afford to lose ahead of time.

2 - If you lose, walk away; if you win, walk away.
Win or lose, walk away because the house always wins in the long run. I knew a woman who won and put a new pool in her backyard; another woman I knew won and put it all back in the machines. House always wins in the long run.

3 - If you are going to do it, do it right. For example, play three if the slot takes three quarters to win the super jackpot.
I've seen people fall to the ground after hitting the jackpot and realizing they don't get the super jackpot cause they didn't play the full amount. What is the point of playing? Win, not could have won.

Bonus four, always bet red.
You could say always bet black and get the same results. It doesn't matter as long as you play the above three rules.

If you can't play by the above rules, you probably should not be betting. They have some nice shows to go to instead.

Oh, and common sense bonus. Those free beers are not free. Putting a hundred dollars in the machines and getting two beers does not make the beers free. Just expensive. Buy your own beers, which are much cheaper.

You can easily adjust accordingly and apply these rules to any kind of betting. I focus on college football exclusively and found a system that will beat Vegas consistently. So, am "hooked"? I suppose if making a lot of money is being "hooked". What is enthralling is in 12 weekends the winnings compound 12 times.

I bet on the Moneyline which means picking the team that will win the game. Let's use Alabama vs Rice in a football game. Vegas determines what they think the margin of victory will be for the game. Let's assume Vegas has Alabama winning by 10 points which is called the Spread. A Spread like that translates to a Moneyline of -342. That means if I pick Alabama to win, then it would take $342 to gain $100. That is gain of 29%. I will take those odds any day because Rice will never beat Alabama. Alabama has a bunch of 4- and 5-star players, and Rice has a bunch of 2- and 3-star players. The disparity in talent is significant and my risk of losing the bet is infinitely small.

Now let's assume that I can replicate those conditions for every weekend. I bet on dominant teams beating scrub teams. Let's assume the Spread and the Moneyline is the same from the Alabama-Rice game and is applicable to all the subsequent games I bet on. This will never happen in real life, but I need a paradigm in order to segue into compounding winnings. If I reinvest my winnings and can make 29% consistently from each game I bet on, then the equation will be 1.29 to the 12 power (Because I bet on 12 weekends). 1.29 to the 12th power = 21. If I start with a $1000 then at the end of the college football season the estimated terminal value will be around $21,000.

However, I might lose a bet or two. That is the nature of betting. It is incumbent upon me to find games that gives me very good confidence on the winners. I am having fun and making money. I don't bet based on luck. I bet based on the disparity of talent between two teams. Here is the crazy part of my plan. The following year I start with $21,000, then my estimate after that year will be $21,000 X 21 = $441,000. Do you see where I am going with this? It is imperative to know how to pick the winning team when using the Moneyline!
