I'm off the da 6 for cq and staff duty. Also there isn't a da 6 for this duty, it's kind of just whoever whenever. Any knowledge would be appreciated. Starting to clear tomorrow, unit wants me to do an additional duty over the weekend? 2015-09-23T10:22:50-04:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 987035 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My orders state that 10 days prior to leave I show up for one formation for accountability and that's it, does that exclude me from additional duties? I'm scratching my head over the statement there isn't a DA 6 for it. No DA 6, so you shouldnt pull the duty, but at the same time, you were given a directive. Yet, your orders give you different directive. Do not pass GO, go straight to your NCO and get guidance. That would be your best bet. Sure would like to meet up with some of the people from my past assignments, for duty or a beer. If you CAN do it, do it. I wouldn't avoid doing something that I was "expected" to do based on a technicality anymore than I would quit because it was "that time". It sounds to me that you have been that "whoever whenever" guy - why not just do it one last time? I also agree that before I would take it upon myself to question not doing it, I'd check with my CoC! I would (As your NCO) find another soldier to volunteer to cover down on you and in turn I will take care of them in the future for this volunteering. Should be that simple. If they don't, well... go up the chain of command. This is too simple of a fix to let it screw you over.
