You paid for them and technically you aren't on active status so the Army really can't tell you what to do.<br /><br />Having said all that, its not really a Halloween costume. You become a target for any bonehead drunk on the street and in this camera phone gotcha media circus, what we do is not as important as what we are perceived to be doing. Any other day, yes. It’s a little different if a spouse wants to wear her husband’s uniform as a costume, but even then still a little lame. Also, how are you between a rock and a hard place? Is someone making you wear the uniform to your civilian job?<br /><br />If anything, wear an Air Force uniform. It is highly distasteful as an NCO to wear your uniform as a Halloween Costume. Why would you want to bring that attention to yourself and disrespect what so many have sacrificed while wearing the uniform? If it's during duty hours, and you have work/appointments that would take you outside the Company AO, then I would understand why you would wear your uniform. The neighborhood was not military friendly and even though i had removed all patches from the BDU (yes it was that long ago) I had to bite my tongue, smile and remember I am out there with my children and this was a day for them. My son loves the military and he wore some of my old acu s to the Halloween party, I am not sure are you saying the acu s are your costume?
