Terminal Leave and switching branches?

So I plan on switching Branch's (Army to Air Force) I just wanted to know could I start my terminal leave could I go straight to the the recruiter to start on the process or will I have to wait till my ETS?

get the recruitment stuff out of the way before you ETS if possible. you might not have to take terminal leave

You will have to wait six months from your ETS date to start the process. Hopefully the USAF is accepting prior service when you are eligible. Also, be prepared to get a grade determination, which means that you might come in the USAF as an E3. Good luck in your future endeavors.

To be considered prior anything you'll need a DD-214. Only one way to get that - ETS. Good luck and Aim High.

SrA John Monette - Sid said it best, get the recruiting stuff done first before ETS. That way you slip from one to the other seamlessly

Visit a recruiter and ask about DD Form 368.
One option is to get accepted to OCS of another branch.
It appears there are programs to make it easier to go from other services to the Army (e.g., Blue to Green).
Couldn't find similar program going from Army to others.
Consider the risk that prior service goals change, and you may find yourself waiting longer than you anticipated.
