The Platinum Rule: Do unto others as they would like you to do unto them.

Who has the Gold makes the Rules.

This is the reality for most people, businesses, relationships and in life.
Let's hope that we can overcome this and strive to the higher standard as you call out.

I grew up with the Gold. I don't like Platinum as that's the "enabling" one. People generally need to be treated as they deserve or need, not want.

Several other rules out there:

Steel Rule: Toughen up or I'll hammer you.
Aluminum Rule: Stay light on your feet or I'll roll you thin.
Tungsten Rule: You think your a Hard A? I'm harder.
Magnesium Rule: Mess up and I'll burn your A.

There're others but it's been a long time since college. We researched them on a slow nerd day.

The Golden Rule by a long shot. Unless you're dealing with an E-9/O-7 then all bets are off. :-)
