A bit over the top - more Hollywood than main street. It does paint an emotionally accurate picture though of the unexplained mood swings, depression and family issues that many have gone through. Thanks Sir for posting this! Thank you sir for the link. I have also posted it to my FB wall. While it is hard to communicate such a sensitive subject that hits so many men and women differently, I believe this piece does a very good job.
The more warriors we reach the better. HBO was the sponsor along with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. Candidates had to submit a 3 minute short film. I submitted a short. I also judged films, along with several of my friends/family, so I saw numerous submissions (beyond the 50 that each person were allowed to judge), plus many were posted on YouTube.

I say all that to say there were several of this 'type' of short film submitted. There were some really awesome projects made and some really terrible ones. But several were working off the military theme and the personal struggle to deal with the realities of war. In my opinion they were made to grab at the emotions of the judges in order to win, not because they actually were trying to show or support the service. I may be wrong. Either way I enjoy and respect the artistic talent that goes behind such projects.

http://www.projectgreenlight.com/

Project Greenlight

Project Greenlight is a television series focusing on first-time filmmakers being given the chance to direct a feature film. It really hits home having lost a close friend and coworker to PTSD. And he reached out to the military many times on his post deployment health questionnaire, and they ignored him. I think we need more things like this to raise awareness and do whatever it takes to stop losing our heroes to PTSD. As an active duty medic, it saddens me greatly to see the great heroes who sacrificed so much to lose hope and take their life.
