All Soldiers will face some type of corrective action, the Senior NCO is forced to retire. The only restitution being sought is $200.00 in fuel expenses. Do you think the punishment is too harsh, too light or just right? The Senior NCO in the Utah NG was forced into early retirement for allowing a bikini shoot with equip. The Military is all about looking past differences between people. This means putting men & women, blacks & whites, etc. all on an equal plane, as it should be. Publishing something that can be construed as sexism is really no different than publishing something that could be construed as racism in my opinion.

Hey, I enjoy a bikini as much as the next guy, but if someone's calling is to do bikini photo shoots, there are places to work that do that. The Army isn't one of them. Uh...hell no! That idiot should be court-martialed and used as an example of "Usage of military equipment and facilities - what not to do". His/her face should be up on every base bulletin board with the comment "SFB" (you figure it out) underneath it.

He/She knew better - if not, then that individual has no business being an SNCO.

'Nuff said. A senior NCO should know better and disregarding the regulations, lost a career they worked hard for. Do the crime, now do the time. This type of objectification of women is not the direction the military should be headed. What kind of message is this sending. Yes I get it. I like guns and I like girls but imagine this being done in another setting like your local school district, local religious organization, or local police department. It gets creepy real fast. 2). Equally there is also a liability issue. If these ladies were firing live rounds even with instruction how is the military culpable if anyone gets hurt or killed. Its easy enough to get brass down your blouse when properly clothed so there are concerns on how this was conducted according to regulations. If military personnel did any of these same activities as these ladies did they would be in trouble 3). Its clearly unauthorized use of military equipment. Throw a track who is paying for the repairs. As to being force to retire I feel its rather harsh but now is not the time to push the envelope as the DoD is looking for any yahoo's, especially senior level, to help with the down sizing. Again very bad idea but I did buy a calendar. I cant tell you how many times my fellow soldiers blew off a little steam on a well-deserved weekend doing some pretty outrageous things.
...but once again, without know exactly what happened and where the photos were released to and who was actually involved...I cannot render any judgement Response by SFC Mark Bailey made Aug 17 at 2015 10:22 AM 2015-08-17T10:22:59-04:00 2015-08-17T10:22:59-04:00 2014-11-02T10:41:07-05:00
