As far as I understand, you go to the PMO to get your fingerprints taken and once eQip is opened for you, you have a very limited amount of time to fill it out and submit it.

SFC (Join to see) -

As always, thanks for the continued rapid updates on information SFC Boyd. I know you're the master of retention so I have a few more quick questions.

1. Does the next in/out call list come out in April or May? I was told it's usually quarterly.

2. Do you suspect that 11B will at least remain balanced and not go understrength for the next list?

3. When it comes time to reclassing, I read that the retention NCO has to go through the RETAIN system to see if the reclass is possible because even the current in/out call list could be not so up to date - is this true?

Thanks,
SPC Morgan

SGT (Join to see) - no problem
1. There's no specific time frame for the In/out calls to be published. It's about twice a year. The last one was recently published and probably won't be updated soon.
2. Only the retention gods can predict that. With the recent increase to end strength for the Army, you can expect a lot of MOSs to become under strength. If it does, 35L is an MOS you may apply to without regard to current strengths.
3. The simplest way to answer that is that all reclass are processed through Retain and that HRC is the final approval for reclass. Class seats that are available for reclass are displayed to the Career Counselor through Retain and that's how your counselor looks for a class seat for you. Only a small portion of AIT seats are alloted to reclass, the majority are dedicated to IET students.

SFC (Join to see) - Wow thanks for that wealth of information. I've been googling these questions for months and haven't been able to come up with anything and you answered them all.

I'm hoping I can move forward with this interim TS clearance. I'm in the field for another few days so that's been slowing everything down. I'm glad I'm working the clearance also incase all the 35P seats are closed because I know 35L also requires a TS.

Thanks again!

I am a 35P and, even though they say promotions are coming up, I'm not holding my breath for a promotion soon. Points have been maxed out for the majority of the last two years. I agree with the previous comments to look at 35L, it's more of a usable job as many of us linguists rarely use our target language. Deployments are rare, too, and you go wherever your unit wants you, not where your language is useful. Plus, DLI is stressful as heck if you aren't used to a heavy courseload.
