Is there any advice anyone can give me about recruiting or anything that might help me out through the process? It's a tough 3 year duty and the disrespectful highschool students the rude parents, and the recruiter life in general is taxing. But always be truthful with the recruits, don't hide anything, and you'll be fine. My numbers might have sucked but i came in E-5 and left E-5 P. Don't be that guy that does the wrong thing to make numbers. Listen to the stories former recruiters tell. I recruited from 2003-2006 and it was a nightmare of epic proportions... and I was extremely successful. My doctor thinks that it, coupled with my combat experiences, exacerbated my PTSD. Every experience is different... but from my experience, I can only say that you should not voluntarily go into USAREC. Of course I came from the officer side of the house, so I recognize there most likely are several differences. I can only speak from what I observed and that was those who possessed the personality and Army values were very successfull. More than anything this is a great way to add a unique expereince and receive unique learning in your career. I am a huge proponent of how this expereince can round out a career. It can be positive for family as well. Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 29 at 2014 2:14 PM 2014-09-29T14:14:13-04:00 2014-09-29T14:14:13-04:00 2014-06-10T14:51:38-04:00
